Pierre Poilievre: Master Of Fear Mongering – Channeling Donald Trump’s Playbook!
I believe that Pierre Poilievre is an incredibly well-spoken, polished, and well-groomed political figure. His ability to communicate is one of his strongest assets, delivering messages that resonate with voters in a manner that is both charismatic and inviting. There is a certain magnetism to the way he speaks—a charm that draws people in, and his smooth, radio-quality voice only enhances his appeal. He has mastered the art of saying what people want to hear, packaging his points in a way that feels accessible and relatable to a wide audience. In the current political landscape of Canada, which essentially operates as a two-party system, there is little doubt in my mind that he is on a path to victory. The NDP and Green Party, while important voices are largely fighting for smaller, less influential roles, leaving the bulk of the political battle between the Conservatives and the Liberals. With the growing dissatisfaction toward the Liberal government, especially under Trudeau, the role of Prime Minister seems to be Poilievre’s for the taking. At this point, he would have to significantly derail his campaign to lose. The Liberals have made several missteps that have left many Canadians frustrated, making Poilievre’s path to the top much clearer.
However, despite Poilievre’s polished persona and seemingly unstoppable momentum, there are aspects of his campaign strategy that are puzzling and, quite frankly, concerning. While his communication skills are undeniable, his recent rhetoric has shifted towards fearmongering rather than offering meaningful solutions to the pressing issues Canada faces. His messaging seems to be built around creating anxiety rather than addressing policy challenges with concrete answers. For example, Poilievre has made statements suggesting that individuals in British Columbia hospitals should fear for their lives due to rampant crime, and he has consistently used rising crime rates across Canada as a central talking point. While crime is certainly an important issue, his approach seems reactionary, focusing more on stoking fear than on presenting detailed strategies to address the root causes of these problems.
This shift in tone suggests that Poilievre is more interested in capitalizing on the anxieties of the moment rather than offering a clear, consistent vision for the country’s future. His slogans, while catchy, seem to change based on the political winds, lacking coherence or depth. It often feels as if he is jumping from one issue to the next, depending on what will gain the most traction in the news cycle, rather than sticking to a focused, long-term platform. This kind of opportunistic campaigning raises questions about his leadership—whether he is truly committed to solving Canada’s complex challenges or if he is more focused on winning at any cost by tapping into fear and frustration.
Unfortunately, this is exactly the situation you will get with Kim Schwenker for Conservative Party MP. Now, this is nothing against Mrs. Schwenker personally—she seems like a genuinely friendly individual who, like myself, cares deeply about St. Catharines. However, because she is tied to the Conservative Party, her hands are bound. Unlike myself, as an independent candidate, she does not have the freedom to think and act independently. She must tow the party line, whether she agrees with every aspect of it or not. Mrs. Schwenker is constrained by the limits and policies of the party, and if she wishes to remain in its good graces, she cannot deviate from their agenda.
This is the same problem we faced with Chris Bittle. He did nothing for the riding because his party didn’t prioritize him or his concerns and he could not be bothered to fight for us. Mrs. Schwenker risks falling into the same trap, becoming just another face of the party rather than a true representative for the people. Unless she has significant pull within the party, her pleas for St. Catharines will go unanswered. Like so many others before her, she will be lost in the shuffle, relegated to the background while the party veterans take priority. She will get the scraps when it comes to decisions that matter to us.
As an independent, and promoting Direct Democracy, I have far more room to maneuver. I can form alliances, and propose ideas that align with the needs and priorities of all parties. My focus is on ideas that work for everyone, regardless of party affiliation. I am not here to hoard good ideas for myself or a party. I want to share those ideas openly, so others can take them and run with them if they see the merit. That folks is what politics should be about—working together, sharing solutions, and collaborating as a unit. It is not about keeping ideas to yourself or shaming the other side for not thinking of it first. We need to focus on what is best for the people, not just for the party.
And again, unfortunately, I have to critique Mrs. Schwenker because, in the end, she is my opponent. But what I will promise is that I will always remain respectful to her and her family. I will only discuss her views professionally and respectfully. She has shown absolutely no personal traits of being a bully or a racist, and for that, she has my respect. Mrs. Schwenker, I again wish you the best of luck, and I want to sincerely thank you for stepping up to this challenge. Bless.
.
Kim Schwenker – Conservative Candidate for St. Catharines MP.
I see that Mrs. Kim Schwenker is now running as the Conservative candidate for St. Catharines MP, and I want to wish her the best of luck in the upcoming election.
Like myself, she’s new to the political scene, but her position as a Conservative candidate comes with certain limitations. Being part of the Conservative Party means she will be bound by their platform, and if she wants access to the substantial donations that flow into major parties, she will have to adhere closely to whatever Pierre Poilievre and the party leadership dictate.
The nature of party politics often means repeating pre-set talking points, pushing forward a pre-established narrative, and riding the party’s accomplishments, rather than introducing fresh ideas. I’would be curious to ask Mrs. Schwenker what inspired her to enter politics and why she chose the Conservative Party? Was it out of personal conviction, or was it because the party offered the most support for her candidacy?
That said, I have joined her page because, at the end of the day, we’re all in this together. Regardless of our affiliations, I believe we can all agree on one thing—we need change, and we can do better for St. Catharines than Chris Bittle.

Kim Schwenker’s Offical Website
I was reading over Kim Schwenker’s Conservative Party website, and it is the usual single-page, cookie-cutter site. It is filled with the same old rhetoric Pierre Poilievre uses: Fix the Budget, Build the Homes, Axe the Tax, Bring It Home and the newest fearmongering slogan, STOP THE CRIME!
The Conservative platform seems to be borrowing from Donald Trump’s playbook recently. They are trying to instill fear in people, using lines like,
“Law and Order: We need to make sure our law enforcement officers have the resources and tools they need to keep our streets safe. They are putting their lives and safety on the line for the lives and safety of others. By cracking down on crime, we’ll create a safer community for all St. Catharines residents and for our police force who are putting themselves at risk every day.“
What is that? Let’s not forget that this apparent ‘rise in crime’ and the supposed lack of resources for law enforcement also happened under their watch, not just the Liberals.
But, as expected, Mrs. Schwenker and the Conservatives will point the finger at everyone but themselves. Mrs. Schwenker states,
“St. Catharines residents deserve to feel safe in their communities.”
I live in St. Catharines, and my dog Re-Lou and I go for walks all the time along Church Street and down to St. Paul, to Ontario Street and back, and we feel safe. Our family feels safe. My friends feel safe, and the people in our building feel safe living here in St. Catharines. So, I have to wonder, where exactly does Mrs. Schwenker live that makes her feel so unsafe? It is obvious she has not spend much time downtown, walking and talking with the souls who are around there.
When I walk along Church Street heading downtown in the evening and I see the many souls fighting addiction, I always ask, “You good? You alright?” And they always respond, “Yep, and you?” Often, they’ll even say, “Have a good night” as I pass by. And in the five years I’ve lived here, I’ve only been asked for change once. When I didn’t have any, the person apologized for asking.
I very much don’t appreciate Mrs. Schwenker using the unfortunate situations of these souls as a talking point to get elected. No one asks to become an addict. No one tries drugs or alcohol for the first time intending to become one.
And while crime is inherent in any city, to imply that St. Catharines homelessness and addiction problem is major part of the overall crime problem is insensitive. Instead of using it as an election tool, maybe Mrs. Schwenker should offer ways to help these people—offer real solutions. But again, she needs to wait until Pierre Poilievre tells her what her position is.
I don’t understand why Mrs. Schwenker would willfully try and scare the people of St. Catharines with fear of crime. Why not focus on the great things we already have and how we can improve them? There’s no need to use Trump-style terms like ‘Law and Order.’ I thought we were better than that as Canadians. But when you follow a platform that’s cut-and-paste and have no independent ideas, you’re forced to stick to the party line and repeat whatever Pierre Poilievre says—like people in B.C. hospitals risking being murdered by a machete-wielding, crack-smoking lunatic. What else can you expect from Mrs. Schwenker?
If you look at Mrs. Schwenker’s website, there’s absolutely no substance. There’s nothing about what she plans to do for St. Catharines. It’s all generic talk about how the Conservative Party will help the country, but nothing specific about job creation, homelessness, addiction, housing, or healthcare in St. Catharines. It’s just a single-page, copy-and-paste website from other candidates running in other ridings.
Is this really what we need? More talk and no real solutions? Mrs. Schwenker is just a puppet of Pierre Poilievre, repeating his message to get elected. Ask Mrs. Schwenker what she plans to do to solve problems in St. Catharines. Don’t ride the coattails of the party before you even start—tell us what you plan to do to help the residents here. And don’t give us a generic response. Like me, give actual ideas and commit to executing them. If Mrs. Schwenker gets elected, you’ll never see her in St. Catharines. She’ll be in Ottawa, rubbing elbows with the elites, chasing a government pension, and maybe trying to sell houses on the side. She has no intention of working in St. Catharines or addressing the real problems we face here. How do I know? Because her website says so!
So when Mrs. Schwenker says “Be a part of the change” what she is really implying is to support a different party but expect the same old results. It’s just another way of rebranding the same political strategies that have been recycled for years. Whether it is the Conservatives or any other major party, the rhetoric may change, but the outcomes stay the same.
Real change doesn’t come from shifting party labels, it comes from genuine new ideas and independent thinking, which are clearly missing from her message.
Make the best choice, the right choice: Independent candidate Kory Read. There’s nothing for me in Ottawa—my work is at home in St. Catharines!

Hello my extend family, I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates as I advance my campaign:
- Finding a Campaign Hub: There’s been a lot of interest in the campaign, and I believe the best way to harness this momentum right now is to establishing a central hub. This dedicated space will be a meeting point where we can connect with local residents, share ideas, and strategize on increasing engagement and spreading the word about our initiatives.
- Launching a Donations Platform: Also to to support these efforts, I am starting to inquire about set up a donation platform. This will allow individuals to contribute easily to our campaign and help us secure the resources needed for the campaign awareness and hub, outreach activities, and advocacy work. Every donation will play a crucial role in making our vision a reality.
How You Can Get Involved
- Suggestions: If you have ideas for potential locations for the campaign hub or other suggestions, please reach out.
- Volunteer: We’ll need volunteers to help set up and run the hub, as well as assist with campaign activities.
- Support: Look out for our upcoming donations platform and consider contributing. Spread the word and let others know about how they can support our cause.
Your support is vital as we work to create a better future for St. Catharines. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for your enthusiasm and commitment!
Warm regards,
Kory Read

Today, we gather to celebrate the beauty, diversity, and unity of our great nation on this Canada Day. From coast to coast, we share a bond that is built on respect, inclusion, and the incredible landscapes that make our country so unique.
Let us take a moment to remember and honor our veterans, whose courage and sacrifice have shaped the nation we are privileged to call home. These brave men and women selflessly served, defending the freedoms and values that define our Canadian identity. Their dedication and heroism in times of conflict have ensured our peace and security, allowing us to thrive as a nation. We owe them a debt of gratitude that words can scarcely convey. As we celebrate today, let us keep in our hearts the profound contributions of our veterans, and pledge to uphold the principles of liberty, justice, and democracy that they fought to protect.
Let us take this day to reflect on our shared heritage, let’s remember the values that define us: kindness, compassion, and a commitment to equality and justice for all. Whether you’re spending the day with family and friends, exploring our natural wonders, or simply enjoying the festive spirit, let’s cherish the freedom and opportunities that we are privileged to enjoy.
Canada’s strength lies in its people. From the First Nations who have called this land home for thousands of years to the our Canadians families who bring fresh perspectives and rich cultures, we are stronger together. Our diverse backgrounds and shared aspirations are what make Canada the extraordinary place it is.
Today, let us also take a moment to honor and thank those who have worked tirelessly to make Canada what it is today, from frontline workers and community leaders to every individual who contributes to our society in countless ways.
As we wave our flags and sing our anthems, let’s renew our commitment to building a better, more inclusive Canada. A Canada where everyone has the opportunity to work together to thrive, and where we all create a brighter future for generations to come.
Happy Canada Day to you all! May your day be filled with joy, pride, and the spirit of community that makes our country so special.
Thank you, and let’s celebrate Canada!
Chris Bittle and his Liberal Government buddies will continue to tell you that there is a labor shortage and that they are creating more jobs than the public can fill. They repeat this narrative, hoping to convince you that their efforts are solving economic problems and creating opportunities. But is this really the case?
When will the lies stop? The reality is starkly different from the picture they paint. People are struggling to find good jobs, and businesses are not seeing the influx of workers that the government claims. It’s time for Chris Bittle to realize that his constituents are not fooled by these false promises.
The lack of genuine effort to improve St. Catharines and the Niagara Region is evident. Residents can see through the façade and are increasingly frustrated with the stagnation and lack of progress. The region needs real solutions and dedicated effort, not empty rhetoric and unfulfilled promises.
It’s time to vote Chris Bittle out and choose myself, an the independent candidate who is committed to making a difference. An independent representative who will have to work hard and deliver results if I hope to be re-elected. This change is essential for the betterment of St. Catharines and the Niagara Region.
