The concept of “Prosperity for All” is a vision of economic well-being and security that should be shared by all members of society, where everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive and reach their full potential. This means ensuring that everyone has a stable income, access to education and healthcare. There should be opportunities for personal growth and development regardless of their background, age or abilities.
It is irritating to see elected Canadian officials like Chris Bittle, who put his own interests and reputation ahead of the welfare of the nation and its citizens. Since Canadian politicians earn the second highest income of any elected official worldwide, the difference between their salaries and their behavior is startling.
We as a nation must always demand greater transparency and a sincere commitment from our elected officials to serve the public interest rather than just their personal careers, as we hold them accountable for their actions. It’s high time for genuine change and meaningful action, rather than empty promises and token gestures from those who are supposed to represent our best interests.
On April 1st, 2024, Chris Bittle and the Liberal party took advantage of April Fool’s Day to push through a carbon tax, then followed up by awarding themselves pay raises, with the new tax revenue serving as the source of funding.
It takes people like myself to represent and prioritizes the well-being and development of the out St. Catharines community, rather than just focusing on maintaining relationships with the wealthy and powerful. As a local resident, I very much have firsthand experience and understand the struggles and challenges faced by communities. and I will bring about real change and make a real impact on our city and the people’s lives that live here.
I will always focus on finding common ground and work together with my community to address the systemic issues that affect our city. By engaging in open and respectful communication with everyone, we all can build bridges between different groups and create a more just and equitable society for all.
